Few weeks ago, I posted some good questions I got from people, with their answers.
And now I will include three more questions.
The questions I chose are quite interesting, and I am sure they can help a lot of you as well! 🙂
1- I have constipation and abdominal pain on a regular basis, even though I am eating fruits and vegetables, drinking water and walking everyday.
What can be the cause of that???
My answer:
First, this can be caused by changing some eating habits like dieting for the first time. A lot of people pass through this situation at the beginning.
Decreasing the fat in the food also has an impact on the digestive system.
Bloating may also occur due to the fermentation of carbohydrates and proteins which causes a slow bowel transit and abdominal pain.
When you feel bloated, try to decrease the foods that cause this symptom like beans, cauliflower, cabbage, green pepper, radish, garlic and onions.
There may be other reasons for constipation. Medications used to treat blood pressure and anxiety, and some supplements like iron can cause constipation.
Try the Soya milk if you are sensitive on lactose (the milk sugar).
Try to have more yogurt as they are rich in Probiotics and Prebiotics, perfect for the digestive tract.
Few sips of Turkish coffee in the morning are usually used to treat constipation, try it as well!
And don’t forget to keep on drinking water, eating fruits and vegetables that are rich in fiber and you will be fine! 🙂
If the condition aggravates, you should see a doctor
2- Why have my menstrual cycles become irregular since losing weight?
My answer:
Definitely there is a link between weight and menstruation, because the brain’s part called hypothalamus is involved in both weight and appetite and controls the menstrual cycles.
In most cases, for an obese woman to lose weight, there is a small chance that the menstrual cycle will be disturbed.
But women in moderate weight range who need to lose only few kilos, have a bigger chance of menstrual disturbance as the body readjusts to the new situation, then it will return to normal.
If this case stayed for over than 3 months, you need medical advice.
3- I have been jogging now, it’s been 2 months! I do it for 30 minutes but on a medium intensity, plus I rest for 3 minutes every 10 minutes.
I started to jog yesterday for the entire 30 minutes non-stop.
Do you suggest I increase my time or my intensity?
My answer:
First of all this is amazing! At least you are motivated and you want to take it to the next level 🙂
To improve your fitness, you need to increase the time and the intensity of your exercise:
– Increase the duration by walking for 45 minutes instead of 30 minutes; this is when you start burning the fat.
– Increase the intensity by pressing on the incline/decline button, and change it every 10 minutes, this is called interval.
For those who are jogging outdoor, start to include some stairs or hills when jogging.
PS: If you feel that you are not ready yet to add some intensity to your workout, start to increase the duration first then move to the intensity upgrade.
Don’t overtrain! You can do that every other day, instead of everyday.
Good luck! 😀
