This fiber is called the “mujeza” fiber or so called the magical fiber.

It is a Psyllium seed husk which is a partially fermented dietary fibre from Plantago ovata that increases stool weight  by its presence there and by increasing the moisture content of stool.

This powder has a rapid effect in decreasing total cholesterol levels as well as high levels of LDL ( the bad cholesterol), and can also provide an alternative drug therapy for some patients!

It has an Anticarcinogenic effect, by decreasing feces PH, that is associated with a reduced incidence of colon cancer in various populations.

Changes is diets, stress and antibiotic treatment can lead to an overgrowth of unhealthy bacteria in the intestinal tract. This can cause  intestinal discomfort or  flatulence, or serious health problems such as severe diarrhea,  colitis (inflammation of the colon). Undesirable bacteria in the colon can lead to colon cancer.

This psyllium seed contains oligofructose, which is a soluble fiber and is a  substrate for bifidus bacteria (the healthy one). It has a prebiotic activity,  and stimulates healthy  bacteria in the intestinal tract.

Ispaghula husk has the ability to decrease blood glucose level due to the delayed intestinal absorption of carbohydrates.

 This powder medicine swells when in contact with fluid, and it is better to use it by people who don’t consume fiber from foods a lot,  by people that can’t tolerate bran, by people who have serious intestinal problems like colon problems and diverticulitis (chronic constipation).

Side Effects:

The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. But it doesn’t mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect.

  • Excess gas in the stomach and intestines (flatulence)
  • Swelling of abdomen
  • Bowel obstruction


There are no known harmful effects when this medicine is used during pregnancy, nor during lactation.

Dissolve the powder in water before taking it. You need to drink a lot of water with it.
